It’s been a busy time at YCC Youth Centres of Calgary, with donors, staff and volunteers preparing holiday gift boxes for families, and supporting the kids who continue to arrive at our doors every day.

The YCC Ogden and Forest Lawn centres offer a ‘third space’ for young people, safe, supportive, and independent of family and school settings, where kids feel a sense of belonging and unconditional acceptance. It seems like every day, we hear one of the kids at the centres declare “this feels like home” or “I don’t know what I’d to without you guys”.

Through our work, we are reimagining what’s possible for hundreds of youth by offering them:

The supports and activities they need to thrive in school and in the community,
Stable access to adult mentors from all walks of life, helping them set and achieve their goals,
A chance to discover their talents and find what inspires them,
Reliable access to healthy meals enabling them to grow and thrive,
The skills to break cycles of poverty,
And their families, access to resources that help them help their kids in essential ways.
